Tip of the month

June 2008

Prepare to get wet!

Old tennis shoes and dark pants work great when the water is up so high. The water covers up blackberry bushes and you will appreciate finding them if you are wearing pants! If you move slow enough you can also wade up on carp too.

In the North West carp spawn between 15 May and 15 June.

We have been out on Vancouver Lake and they are starting to stay on the surface a little more each week. Some days we have seen 400-600 carp and other days it has been just mere dozens.

With the colder than usual winter the season may just last until the end of June!

The water in Vancouver Lake is much higher than in the past so unless you wade in just a little, shore access has been a problem.

The best way to go is a boat at this time.

Helpful hint:

Most people shoot over the fish.  The water deflection is most of the problem however, try to imagine it is a tree stand shot. The higher you are above the fish, the lower you want to aim.

This is Colt. He wanted to be able to pull 40lbs before archery season.

He is well above that now thanks to his "Bow Buff" he invented.

We just have one question. How bad do you want it?

Come in and check out our renovation

Boy did we work hard (ly)!!

All joking aside, we aren't finished yet. We are expanding the shop by more than 2000sf to make a total of over 7000sf.

We have a 30 yard range to complement our existing 20yrd range that has 14 lanes.

The 30 yard range is now open with 6 lanes available
