Archery World Classic Rules

1. Divisions follow NFAA/Vegas Rules & Equipment (Open = Freestyle Unlimited), (Bowhunter Freestyle) except Barebow


2. Barebow follows World Archery rules; Archers shooting a recurve or longbow with (or without) a rest and plunger. String walking is permitted. No clickers or draw checks allowed. No stabilizers are permitted but riser mounted weights are permitted so long as the bow with all legal accessories fits thru a 12.2cm WA/USAA Judge’s ring. No serving ending or marks permitted on bowstring within view at full draw.


3. Archers may only register and shoot once and in a single division.


4. Listening devices (headphones, ear buds, iPod/mp3 players, etc.) are not permitted while shooting on the line


5. Compound archers will use a 40cm Vertical 3-Spot target face. Barebow archers will use a 40cm Single Spot full target face. Recurve archers may choose to use either a 40cm Single Spot or Vertical 3-Spot face.


6. Lane assignments will be determined by Archery World Staff to try to accommodate shooting with your division peers.


7. Qualification Round will be:

  • a. Each end will be 3 arrows.

  • b. Official Practice is 2 ends.

  • c. Official Scoring is 20 ends consisting of 3 arrows per end

  • d. X’s = 11points

  • e. Total possible score will be 660points

8. Ties are decided based on score, # of 11’s, # of 10’s, 1st arrow out of highest scoring ring.


9. Practice and Qualification Rounds will be timed 2 minutes (2:00) for 3 shots


10. Shots triggered after timer expires will not score; arrows traveling past dead arrow line cannot be re-shot


11. Do not touch any arrow or target face until the scores have been called & recorded accurately.


12. Archer can request a Judge if he/she disagrees with group call; ruling is final.


13. Archer must number (1, 2, 3) each spot on their target; Arrows will be shot and recorded in this order.


14. Single Spot targets will be scored in order of lowest scoring arrow to highest for Barebow or Recurve archers.


15. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd arrows missing 11 ring will be used to break ties. (archer shooting clean w/ 11’s longest wins)


16. Shooting rotation: Each target butt will have 4 shooting positions labeled from left to right A,C,B,D. Archers on A and B will shoot at the same time and archers on C and D will shoot at the same time. The shooting order will alternate each end with no breaks at the half (1st end AB,CD. 2nd end CD,AB, 3rd End AB,CD, etc.)(see note 1 at bottom of the document)


17. Archers are required to replace target face at judge’s discretion


18. Target face may not be altered or repaired. (new target face can be use at shooters discretion)


19. After 10th scoring end, all compound archers must put up a new target.


20. Witnessed bounce outs or witnessed physical interference by another archer will be re-shot.


21. Archer may miss up to 2 ends during Qualification Round for equipment failure; arrows made up at the end.

 

 

Archery World Classic Bracket Rules

22. Qualifying scores advance to Eliminations and will shoot a 9 Arrow Olympic Bracket Style Elimination (#1 vs #16, #2 vs #15, #3 vs #14, etc.)


23. No provision for equipment or physical failure can be given during any Elimination match


24. Two ends of practice will be given at the beginning of your division’s first elimination


25. (Brackets) Ranking ties in bracket rounds are decided based on total 11s, then by the archer who shot clean longer during the shoot-off (exception: if there is a tie shooting for 1st-3rd place there will be a one arrow closest to center shoot-off)


26. All Bracket matches consist of 3 ends of 3 (9) arrows


27. Youth brackets (final 4) will shoot with a 2 minute clock per end from 4th to 1st place Sunday start time TBA.


28. Barebow men/women brackets (final 8) will shoot down to the final 4 then the final 4 will shoot-up to determine the winner of the division #4 vs #3, Winner vs #2, Winner vs #1. Sunday start time TBA.


29. Men/women’s Bowhunter Freestyle brackets (final 8 for men, final 4 for women) will shoot down to the final 4 then will a shoot-up to determine the winner of the division #4 vs #3, Winner vs #2, Winner vs #1. Qualifying women will only do a shoot up. Sunday start time TBA


30. Men/women’s Open brackets (final 16 for men, final 8 for women) will shoot down to the final 4 then will a shoot-up to determine the winner of the division #4 vs #3, Winner vs #2, Winner vs #1. Sunday start time TBA


31. Shooting order of top 4 seeded archers in each division are determined by their qualification score and bracket score combined.

32. If any bracket has an odd number of participants, the top seed will receive a bye to the shoot up. The archer will be required to shoot his/her arrows to add to their overall aggregate and be seeded in the shoot up according to the qualification score and the bracket score combined.

Shoot-up Rules
1. All Shoot-Up matches consist of 3 ends of 3 (9) arrows


2. All Shoot-Up arrows are timed 30 seconds for each shot with MC commentary


3. Archers will remain on the shooting line during their entire Shoot-Up match


4. AW Classic Staff will pull arrows after each end and return them


5. Free practice for on-deck archers in Finals Practice area until called onto Shoot-Up Finals stage for his/her match


6. Possible score of 99, (9) 11's; scored by spotter/scorer, then Classic Judge’s call is official


7. All tie scores broken by 1 Arrow Shoot-Off (2 shots by score, then 3rd shot closest to X)


8. Shots triggered after timer expires will not score; arrows traveling beyond dead arrow line cannot be re-shot


9. Witnessed bounce outs or witnessed physical interference by another archer will be re-shot


10. No provision for equipment or physical failure can be given during any Elimination or Shoot-Up match


11. All archers shooting in the finals must have at least 6 arrows with them to alternate 3 & 3 during finals.


12. Shoot-up starts at 12p.m. (order of divisions will follow barebow women, Barebow Men, Open women, Open Men)


 

Over $18,000 in Cash Total Purse for all three events
We must receive W-9 or W-8 BEN IRS form if your check is over $600

Total Aggregate Champion is determined by the total points that an archer has accumulated
during each event. (This includes qualification rounds and any points accumulated during the
bracket rounds. This excludes tie-breaking shots closest to center) Each event aggregate will be
added together to determine the top ranking archers for all 3 locations to determine bonus cash

and the division aggregate overall winners
